I know that my posting has been pretty sporadic and crappy for...erm...ever, but i'm going to take an official break from blogging for a while.
In a month (to the day, actually...) i will be starting my art foundation course at university. this scares the living shit out of me. everything will change.
Holiday, instead of soothing my nerves, has made me even more unsure about everything than usual.
When I get my holiday snaps developed I will probably post them, but for the moment I'd rather keep my mug off of here. i'm not being stalked, or wanted by the police, honest!

I hope i won't compleltly lose everyone from reading my blog! and, my self inforced ban will probably allow me to read other people's blogs, and actually comment, without feeling like a bad person for being fat, ugly and unfashionable!

so, here i am! in switzerland, yay yay.
it's currently 9.30 in the evening and i'm sitting next to a swimming pool, with lots of flowers and mountains and stuff around. here are some pictures i took during the journey here. i now thank my parents for driving, because i get to see so many more beautiful places than i would otherwise!

and it holds any one of my cameras, with my new compact slipped in the side. or my phone.

at 4am on monday morning the drive from gatwick, england, to susten, switzerland commences.
eight hundred miles.
two days in a fucking car.
why can't we just go somewhere normal!? carbon footprint, parents!!

anyway, whilst i'm away i'm going to think about what direction i want my blog to take. at the moment, it's more 'mess' than anything else, and it's irritating me. any ideas? to be honest, the 'fashion' part of this blog has always been a bit shit. i'm not the most creative of dressers, and probably never will be.
but, i'd like to keep up the 'art and mess' part of it.

i'm really sorry for my lack of blogging recently- the combination of beautiful weather, working, a family get together and working towards on some illustrations for a zine (!!!!! excited !!!!!) have meant that i haven't had a lot of time to blog.
i have also imposed a clothes shopping ban on myself- on anything over £3. yes! i can still buy knickers!! who doesn't love underwear, hey?
whilst shopping with my best friend last week, i tried on this top from topshop:

the one i tried was actually a beautiful dusty pink (not a colour i've ever tried before- i automatically thought it would look awful against my skin, but it actually looked lovely) and i've really fallen in love with it.
however, £28 for a vest top with some flowers on it is...URGH. criminal!!! so i'm planning on making one myself! yay!

my blogging is going to be pretty sporadic for the next three weeks, as next monday i go away to Switzerland for two weeks. I'm really excited because we'll be staying in the mountains, and i do love mountains! i know the campsite has internet access so hopefully i'll be able to bring you pictures! if you want, anyway!

oh, and on the subject of the cupcakes in my last post:
the topping is actually crushed up Fox fruit sweet things (boiled sweets, basically). they gave the EXACT effect i was looking for, although they did melt after a day...

GRRRR!! DAMN YOU PHOTOBUCKET!!!
i apologise for all of the "bandwidth exceeded" photo things everywhere. i'm not going to pay for more bandwidth with them, so it'll be that way until the 25th of this month. i'm really sorry.
whilst the rest of my page is ugly ugly ugly, here are four photographs that i took with my dianaf+ and 120 film (the correct film for the camera). i'm pretty pleased with them, even if they don't really look much.

today, i started the terrifying task of sorting out my wardrobe. i am a very messy person. very very messy.
anyway, my wardrobe is now completely cleared out, and things are organised, with stuff still to sort out neatly (well...neatly-ish) boxed at the bottom.
i've still got an under-bed box, and a huge packing case to sort out, most of which will be sent to charity shops/ebayed. i will take some pictures of things, and if anyone sees anything they might be interested, let me know and i will take proper pictures of them for you to see. plus i'll sell them cheap.

anyway. with all of my clothes out of my wardrobe and in very neat piles, i decided to play with some pieces that i rarely/have never worn out before, and my new skirt and blazer. here are my hilarous results.
PLEASE NOTE. i look like a twat in all of these. i wasn't wearing any make up, and it was an 'i need makeup day'. the later pictures are particularly cringe-worthy...but i'm not getting all of my clothes out of my wardrobe to re-shoot...

okay. these photos...i look like i'm trying to be a domonatrix or something. i was actually trying to show the shape of the trousers, and look 'fierce'...

i actually quite like this, even if it is very different to what i normally wear.
i got the weird trousers from a topshop sale for £3, and i developed a weird liking for them. the blouse is something mum just bought home from work, randomly...it's a wonderful shape:

it's got bat-wing arms, and a cowl-ish neck, which is unbuttoned here...

here, i was trying to channel susie bubble (who, normally, i would not even ATTEMPT to imitate...i would look even MORE stupid than i do normally) by turning my garment up-side-down. it worked surprisingly well! especially with the blazer. if i do actually wear this out, i'll wear it with a strappy top, not the weird corset-y one i was wearing, and i'd probably wear the shirt inside out so you didn't see the stitching. and...with either a simple black skirt and tights, or straight black trousers and heels.

and finally, just trying the blazer with some other shirts...

i have issues with dressing "smart". at college, a couple of people commented that i always dressed 'up' cause i wore dresses when the majority of people wore jeans and a tshirt. however, when it comes to actually dressing up, i never really know where to start. for example, my first instinct when going to an interview was to wear an old cardigan. i did end up wearing a smart-ish jacket, but for a while i've had my eye out for a smart jacket that can dress up simple outfits, and harden up something a bit girly.
i got this jacket through the post from asos.com yesterday, and i love it.

i was being attacket by bushes.

i also wandered into the Peacocks sale yesterday (classy....) and found these shoes for £7. they reminded me of the three strap shoes by chloe, only...er...cheaper and more crossed over. i really liked the wooden heel, so i got them. they're incredibly difficult to walk in.

when you look, you find. I went shopping on my lunch break yesterday and looked ONLY at skirts (i actually managed not to get drawn straight to dresses...) and i came out with two very different skirts.
i took heed of all of your advice (thank you, everyone =D) and although i WISH i could go for the tight skirt+baggy t-shirt look, it's just not going to happen.

for some reason my mind is numb and i can't think of anything to write. spending a lonely night in after a lovely day with my boy (:

I'd like to apologise in advance for 1) my exposed bra/bra straps in half of these. damn knickerbox sale luring me to buy underwear that shows under tops. and 2) my completely, hopelessly twisted necklace. thanks for warning me there, ed :P

i actually hated these two things enough to start photoshopping them out. i VERY rarely do anything to alter my photos (other than saturation/overlaying images, but they're pretty obvious...) so i felt ashamed of myself. although, at least i wasn't making myself look really skinny and fresh faced!

i got told off by Ed for never wearing my hair back, so i made a makeshift chopstick out of a twig. classy.

recently, my boyfriend pointed out that i very rarely wear skirts. i tend to opt for either boring jeans and the same old t-shirts, or a dress if i feel brave enough to show my legs.

the truth is that i've always had a problem with knowing what to put WITH skirts.
everyone else can do it find!
i have an aversion to this seasons ruffle skirt, because i'm convinced it will make my hips look huge, and although i do have THIS and THIS skirt that i wear on and off, they're really my only wearable skirts.

when i got an birthday £10 off email from ASOS.com, i immediately went to dresses. (well, after this jacket, that i love, and will probably get.) however, i will now force myself to look through skirts. i quite like wearing over the knee skirts- they feel light and airy without the fear of exposing my rear with one gust of wind. my hatred of my legs always rears its head more with skirts than with dresses for some reason, which probably explains my dislike of wearing them.

does anyone have any advice for what to wear WITH skirts? that sounds like a stupid question, but it always just flumoxes me!

i was debating whether to do a post about some bits and pieces i got for my birthday or not- i don't want to seem like i'm bragging or anything, but they're pretty things and i want to show them!

happy birthday to me!

so, i turned eighteen yesterday, it was very exciting! i actually had a pretty lazy day with the boyf and then just had a meal at home with my parents. i got some lovely lovely gifts- Diesel For Life perfume from Ed, a GORGEOUS ring from my parents, and a big lush box from my dad (and of course, my beloved diana!)

you americans call them thrift stores, us brits call them charity shops.
whatever you call them, they're good. whilst waiting for my mum the other day, i absent mindedly popped into SCOPE (a charity for multiple sclerosis) because their shoes looked good. unfortunately, they were all little sizes. i twirled a necklace holder and spotted a pretty leaf necklace, and whilst wandering towards the cash desk, flipped through some dresses hanging up. a shine caught my eye!
i love the spontainuity of charity shopping, and the little treasures you can so easily find.
i bought this dress for £4.25, and it seems almost new. i love the shimmer of the fabric, and i want to wear it with coloured tights come winter. i'm thinking aubergine or burgandy...
i might wear it tonight, to see my friend playing Alice in Alice in Wonderland.

on monday i had the last of my sewing classes. i've yet to even try my skirt on properly, but i will get pictures at some point! i would've liked to have got pictures of everyone wearing their skirts, but it didn't really work out that way!
anyway, i did get some pictures of the great space that we worked in. it's in the middle of a town, so it's really quite a retreat. the fabric shop is below, and on the second floor there is another studio, where an artist, and illustrator and a seamstress work!
the seamstress, Andrea, was so lovely. she helped out most weeks. she also showed me how to do free embroidery...when i get another day off when, i'll try it out...

i got my first film shot with my diana f+ back yesterday, and at first glance, my heart sank.
they were pretty lame results.
i was way too ambitious with doubly exposures and stuff, and my day had been really hard, i was all hormonal and i just sat down and had a little cry.
my day was then cheered up by some mail order clothes arriving...new pajama bottoms!! cardigan! silk dress!

however, looking through them again, i've found some that i actually really like.

As a lot of you know, i'm pretty into photography. I adore the raw, un-altered, 'natural' photography of photographers like Carl Bengtsson and Lina Scheynius and for a while i've been interested in polaroid photography, and since that has become so expensive and hard to access, i've switched my obsession to lomography.

i just wrote an extremely long, self pitying post, which would probably have caused everyone to stop reading my blog, but luckily, blogger refused (for some reason) not to post it. i'll take this as a sign from above.

the upshot of it was, that i am very tired and quite demoralised.
but, i will try and get myself out of it, and give myself targets and be positive.
and, not get upset when people shout at me for making coffee wrong. I've only worked two shifts and i'm learning. it's allowed.

anyway, i've got a couple of new things to show, and as i start at 11 tomorrow, i might get to take some photos in the morning (:

thank you to everyone who always comments me, and anyone who's ever commented me! they really make me smile- especially when people compliment me on anything- especially drawings, because i find it so encouraging.
i welcome advice/criticism and stuff, so if you hate it, tell me!! or i'll start to think that people are fibbing and think it's shit :P

today was the first day when i had so little to do that i could actually lay out in the sun! i managed to sunbathe and read for about half an hour before i felt sick and had to come in =/
i'm weird with the sun...it makes me feel really nauseous, and i can't wear sunglasses because i have a phobia of having things on the bridge of my nose.
freak.

anyway, this is a new dress that i wore, bought at fat face for half price (£16)

later on it got colder, and i went to meet a friend i haven't seen for a while. I meant to get some pictures of her...she has a lovely style, but i forgot =/

i apologise for my awful photographs at the moment- i KNOW i should capitalise on the nice weeather. there are some builders working across the road from us, and my elder brother's home and i feel self-conscious when people see me taking photos of myself. but i will try!

Grace (my best friend) and I went up to the Helmet Newton photo machine in Oxford Street Topshop today. After several panics before we got there (one of a severe nose-dive in any confidence I have, another having to sprint in heels to get some cash with 4 minutes before the train left...) the day was pretty good!
As is predictable the queues were pretty long...they were only doing basic makeup and no trying on clothes for the photos when it was our turn, but that was okay.
we only got to take four photographs (i could have spent SO long in there...) but i love the one we were given to take home:

we both look slightly crazy and demented, but that's a good look, right?!

Then we went to Regents Park for lunch and saw about a hundred thousand stalks. they were wonderful.

I'm now rushing out to see the boyf (=D). Even though I'm on summer holidays now, I seem to have been so busy the last few days. I need a lie-in!

As you may or may not have realised, I am in the middle (actually, one step from the end...) of exam season. this has left me with a lot more time on my hands.

what i MEAN to say is that i have been revising every waking minute...

well, obviously i haven't, but what i HAVE been doing is a lot of drawing and painting.
today i got out the sewing machine and decided to try exploring what i could do on the sewing machine.
I started to do this at the beginning of the year, for my a level project, and i wish i'd thought of my final idea sooner so i could have developed it! i have an awful photo of my final piece here.

I had my interview for Costa today (i've got a test shift on Thursday to see if i adapt well...yay!) and it turned out to be really informal- we just sat at a table in the store and went through some questions.
However, I DID smarten up my outfit, because i did look rather scruffy!
I hate these photos and apologise for them.

I took the trousers up an inch and they fit much better, and wore this linen jacket i got about three years ago. I was so channelling Kirsty Lee with my colour scheme here. How can she manage to pull off all grey outfits and look fantastic EVERY TIME?!
I felt a little boring, and frumpy, and..gah. +stops self from picking myself apart+

i wore it to my sewing class later with a green cardigan and converse, and it looked alright too, so these will make a much more regular appearance in my wardrobe, i think!

I was contacted by a lovely lady from Topshop called Hayley on friday about the Helmut Newton photo machine that's being held in Topshop, Oxford Street from Tuesday to Saturday next week.
Showcasing Helmut Newton's invention, which allows a model to style herself, pose, and take her own photograph sounds like such a wonderful idea!
The website says:

"Having inspired many photographers, designers and artists over the years, Newton’s iconic style and love of strong, powerful women is still heavily referenced today − as the forthcoming AW08 season of ‘fierce femininity’ and killer heels showed us.

i walked into the living room this morning, and noticed a summer sale mini-catalogue from Joules Clothing.

We got the first catalogue through about two months ago, and I immediately took an irrational disliking to it. It appeals to the 'english village community spirit' (which, living in an english village, i know does not actually exist...) with captions like "this dress would look PERFECT for putting up the bunting around the fete"
oh, go away.

anyway. the sale catalogue.
I opened it up and saw a dress a couple of pages in.

last night was the first of six monday evening sewing courses.
during this time, we'll make a skirt and be guided through everything from pattern cutting, putting in zips and darts, buttons ect. i know a fair amount of it anyway, but it;ll be good to be taught it.
the pattern was already chosen, whcih i guess saves for dithering over what skirt to make! At least- kind of. we had five to chose from:

initially i went for the bottom left, as it looks as though it would have a nice flow, but i decided on top left as i would learn to do darts.

Then came the fabric.
I loved the print on this skirt worn (and made) by childhood flames so i was looking for something vaguely similar, but EVERY fabric i was drawn to was curtain fabric! Why are there no regular cotton fabrics with a large floral print?! well, at least not at Crawley Cloth Store...
Seeing as it's such an easy patten, i'll no doubt make other skirts from this pattern.
The fabric i did chose is pretty simple:

it's a pretty small print, and not too light a cotton, so i think i might be able to wear it in the autumn as well as the summer. if i wear it. it was only about £5 so if i don't, it was an experience making it!

The title of the blog came from my first expirience of pattern sizing. I came out as a size 16-18.
cue panic attack and not eating for several days. no, i joke (about things that aren't funny.)
everyone came up about three sizes bigger than normal, so i managed to rationalise and NOT go down the panic attack route. which was a plus.
But, it's kinda disheatening to see the size, don't you think?

on saturday I am venturing up to london, yay!
As i don't go all that often, i tend to stick to oxford street and camden, which as got slightly...boring now.
I'm meeting up with my wonderful Claire-friend, who is 6ft tall and super skinny, so i only pretend to be her friend. She's going to take me to Brick Lane, and I'm taking her to the East End Thrift Store.
We also plan on going to Tim Walker's exhibition.
Does anyone know of any good places with cheap thrift/second hand/charity shops in London? Advice! please!

on saturday morning, my mum and i took the french students to the station so they could go home. there were so many of them there! we ended up taking them because the students of my mum's school couldn;t house any, so they were in desperate need of places. the majority of them ended up staying in the school its self, so i'm glad we could take some. they weren't nearly as bad as i had expected- being special needs students i was worried that they would be hard to communicate with (and i mean that with no discrimination towards anyone) but they were alright in the end.

we then went into town, and came across a charity shop we'd been meaning to go in for ages.
there were some cool things there- LOADS of books. mum and i went a bit mad and got lots of pointless ones, like Etiquete For Gentlemen and dressing up books. seeing as they were about 40p each, i don't feel bad about it!

my books- Handel's Messiah, which i plan to rip up to use in various collages, Etiquette for Gentlemen, The Quotable Woman and Knitting in Vogue. I can't knit but one day, i will knit myself an awesome cardigan.
I also got:

a full length night dress, which i plan to cut down and line so i can wear it on holiday

a really interesting belt- i just loved the pattern and texture of it, even though it's a horrible plasticy thing. I'll find something to do with it...

I also found a replacement purse for mine, which has fallen apart. when my dad saw it, he asked me why i had his mum's purse. oh dear.

THEN we went into the proper part of town and passed Whittards of Chelsea. As usual, my mum stopped outside and lusted over the plates. We have these horrible 28 year old plates that mum and dad got as a wedding present, that EVERYONE hates but mum wouldn't buy new ones because it would be a waste. I managed to pursuade her to get some new pasta and cereal bowls, because they were on offer, though!
She treated me to some crockery for when i go to uni (her words were "just choose whatever you want!" I felt bad so i only got half of the minimum i will need. what a good daughter i am...).
I got really bright stuff so they'll make me happy.

i feel bad posting about this here, but i bought some uniqlo jeans a while ago, and they don't fit well, so i'm selling them cheap on ebay so i don;t have to treck to take them back!

they're a size 10 (but i'd say a larger size 10) boyfriend fit, tapered leg jean in light blueeee denim. they're really soft and i want them but they look stupid on me, because i'm short. they'd look best on people above...5"5 i reckon...

Today was the last day of my college education.
It seems so crazy and not real AT ALL. Hardly anyone's been in college this week, so it's been a bit of a let down, i suppose.
I can't decide if i'm glad or not.
My photography teacher was lovely- she gave me a card to say goodbye and her email address so we can keep in touch.

My boyfriend and i went back to his, and took some pictures until my batteries died.

this is a very unflattering picture, i don't really have a belly that big. i hope.

This dress- i've decided i don't love it as much as i did. it doesn't fit too well on the bust, which makes the material under the bust balloon a bit. I'll still wear it loads though (:

Apparently, one of the first things someone notices about another person is their hair.
a lot of girls in my college get their hair cut and styled really regularly, GHD it every day, colour it every month blah blah blah.
When I was younger i always HATED HATED HATED my hair- i was bullied for being ginger a lot, and i died it a couple of times and it looked awful.
Now i've "come to terms" (oh gosh, it sounds like the most SERIOUS thing in the world...) with my hair colour, and my hair is my favorite feature.
I've been playing with it recently, with heidi plaits but wasn't too sure about wearing it out.
This morning i saw this picture, and decided to shamelessly copy it

I think the model has a prefect shaped face for the style, and although it didn't look half as good on me, i liked having it done slightly differently.

it's so easy to do- just do a side parting and take the front section of hair, start plaiting and pin wherever you want (:

In my A Level art class, there was this awesome girl, who had henna'd, dreaded hair and did wonderful things with a sewing machine.
She based the WHOLE of her self-directed project around this film, The Science of Sleep.
It was on sale for £3 at HMV so i got it, and watched it last night with my boyf and his sister.

It's a WEIRD film. I need to watch it again, because i didn't quite get all of it, but it's really bizzare, but dreamy and soft and...i thought it was really beautiful.

The female protagonist is played by Charlotte Gainsbourg, who is my new heroine.
I think she's beautiful, but in a tired way. Like...she looks worn down, but her long limbs and swinging hair and graceful hands just work.

I've just found out the film was filmed in 2006- a big suprise, as there's none of the high-tech special effects that there was huge scope for (although if there had been, it would have ruined the softness).
It's a french film, and about half of it is spoken in french (subtitled) with a tiny bit of spanish, and the rest is english.

my boyfriend and I went to see Iron Man at the cinema today. it was a pretty good film- entertaining, even if it's not the most...highbrow of films!
i was very impressedat Gwyneth Paltrow's ability to run in what looked like five inch heels, whilst being chased by a huge, even lump of metal!

Today, my parents and I decided to go to a local craft market, held at a school that practices Rudolf Steiner principles of learning. as i understand, this requires the children to be very self disciplined , as they can choose what subjects they study.
the place was beautiful, with loads of stall selling alternative clothing, and candles and stuff, i wish I'd taken my camera!
I noticed a sign for a second hand stall, and rushed over because they were only open for another 2o minutes.
and i found these!

it's such a nice day, again!
I had the day off of college yesterday as well as a bank holiday monday, and i stayed at my boyfriends. we walked from his to the station (about two miles through countryside) and it was BEAUTIFUL. i need a compact camera so i can just snap anytime!

I always find dressing for summer REALLY difficult- i never know what to put with skirts, and i love being bundled up in scarfs.
i think i need to get some nice, light dresses, but i found this skirt at the back of my skirt drawer so i thought i'd try it...

(please excuse the weird half-sitting-constipated pose...)
it's several sizes to big, so ive kinda...sewn it and moved the buttons, badly. the waistband is weird- i think it makes me look pregnant! but...it's light and airy, so never mind.
i've never actually worn these sunglasses, but im going to give them a go, because my other ones make me look REALLY weird!

Today was the worst day in the history of life.

Exaggeration. But I smell of chemicals, and my exam went really badly.
To be honest, when you wake up and realise it's the nicest day outside, and you're going to be stuck in a black room with red lights for seven hours, it puts you in a bad mindset!
also, when all of your photos come out contaminated by some unknown liquid in one of four containers, you become frustrated.
okay, i'm sounding really depressing when i'm actually in a really good mood.
but all of my photos came out with a metalic-y bronze-gold THING on them. it's washed off but has also wasted about an hour out of 14. it looks cool though:

if not a little messy.

i also topped my most basic outfit in two years list, by wearing skinnies, a vest top and a cardigan. i am ashamed of myself.

the last three days have been incredibly stressful.
I managed to nearly murder my laptop, and thought I had lost all of my documents, including my final photographs for my photography exam, which is tomorrow.
Thankfully, I haven't.

I'm most upset about this.

Poppy Lee from that's just my vibe, really recently posted about cheap imitations of designer dresses, a la Primark.

I went in today, and saw this necklace:

i got this exact necklace in a silver for my mum last year, at four times the price from Topshop.
but at £1.50, i could not resist, and may well go back and get a few more (providing they're still there...) to dismantle and use for something else!

It's not only designers they rip off, but other highstreet stores too...

Sadly, they're more in my price range than other places.
I need a job...

I got these jeans when I was in London, but I haven't posted them because I feel really self conscious about my size in them. I wore them to college (first time i've worn skinnies in over a year...) and people seemed to like them, so i decided to post.
I got the top and scarf from H&M cause i had a 20% off voucher- they're different colours for me, but I quite like it (:

I apologise for my sporadic posting at the moment.
there's several reasons for this
1) stress from exams- i have my A2 exams coming up and i really should be doing more work for them and spending much less time online...
2) lack of wearing and photographing good outfits- i don't feel comfortable either wearing or displaying interesting outfits half the time- i will work on getting my confidence up. one day...

er
and general lack of creativity.

if i'm honest, i don't really know where I'm going with ths blog. Half the time I just post a load of photos i've taken which aren't particularly fantastic or interesting. I don't talk about fashion, art, so most of this is just mess.

maybe after the exams (57 days and counting...)I'll have more time to cultivate (i like that word...it reminds me of plants) this blog.

But, thank you, really, thank you for anyone who's ever commented my blog, because...i've never heard a bad word from any of you, just encouragement and advice.

I've had several things to blog about but not enough time to do it!

so here goes...

On Saturday I went down to Brighton with my boyfriend to Moshi Moshi (a sushi restaurant) to celebrate his 18th birthday (and our four month anniversary (: )
I wanted to dress up a bit, so my choices were limited to...er..one dress (: but it's my favorite so that's good (:

i got it around Christmas in the Miss Selfridge sale..it's 100% silk and was marked down to £30 =D
i just wish it didn't bunch around the bust so much =/
i tried it with grey and black tights but they show right through =/ risky...but i like the cream (:
i did my hair in "milk-maid" braids

I'd never had sushi before so i was slightly nervous, but it all worked out perfectly (:
moshi moshi is such a cool building...it's like a prefab, dropped in the middle of a square surrounded by a hotel and office blocks. there's a sushi-go-round and most of the staff are native Japanese.
unfortunately i messed up the ISO so all the images came out badly and very red.

The Booth Museum in Brighton (South Coast of England) is a really interesting Natural History museum- it holds over half a million species of birds, bugs and animals. There's an enormous taxidermy section, hundreds of butterflies and (my favorite part...) a HUGE amount of animal skeletons, ranging from birds to deer to a killer whale.
It's a great place, give it a visit if you're anywhere near there...

Today we recived our A Level photography exam paper.
There were some interesting titles- Connected Images, Abstraction in the Landscape...but the one that struck me was "Literature".

I've got a favor to ask everyone- do you know of any photographers who have produced a series of photographs based around a poem, a song, a book?
I would be really really pleased if anyone could get back to me...it doesn't matter if they're professional photographers, or amateur. I would love to see ANYTHING.

Also, if you know of anyone who might know of shoots...could you ask them?

My art exam has officially started.
Our assignment on the first lesson was to draw some fresh fish that she had bought in.
It's strange, I don't think I've ever seen anything quite as beautiful, and macabre at the same time.
The colours on it were simply beautiful. I wish I'd had my camera.
We've been set to look up Memento Mori (specifically Cotan's hanging vegetables). Whilst researching I found this site: single shot.

ohhh scary.

I have a HUGE deadline in for monday, so all of this past week (it's been half term) i've been doing (or i've MEANT to be doing...) all the finishing touches to my art coursework.
I've still got a bit of work to do tomorrow (actually...a lot...) but i will get a picture of my final piece and post it up.

I've been slouching around in ill-fitting clothes and generally looking horrible, but i will make an effort to look pretty tonight, as my boyfriend is coming over (:

Oh, i'm really pleased because I had a polaroid featured here... which is really lovely, even though mine looks horrible next to all the others!

There's a petition to stop the discontinuation of polaroids (that doesn't make sense...) here
